Does Lasercut 5. Hello world, I'm new to this community and this is my first post. I've tried searching for the answers to my question, but to no avail so if you could please help it would be much appreciated! I'm running LaserCut5. From a while my pc ask me to install windows Is Lasercut 5.

I will work with Windows 7 until it will be possible. Have a nice day. I am currently running it on a mac in a windows 10 emulator, it is a bit slow is the only problem so I suppose a native Windows 10 will be OK.

As mentioned in the thread that phillw shared, the DLL issue can be serious. Thanks for response both, the account on the machine is a local admin account, as there is other software that requires admin rights also.
The Drivers seem to be installed correctly but the DLL still appears. HPC have sent me 2 versions of Lasercut 5. Annoying the 2nd one they sent me is being blocked at install by our anti virus! Just been reinstalling it over the top each time. I doubt they do it for linux, can you not revert back to Win 7? Our laptop is only used for the lasercutter and is not even on the network so, although it irks the network manager it is staying as a win 7 machine!
Does the lasercut not appear as a device in the Printers and devices menu? You could uninstall it from there? It does not work with Linux though you might be able to use some sort of Windows 7 emulator. If it works with a stand-alone machine, you know that the issues are related to your schools network. If it fails on a stand-alone then you know there is an issue with the cutter. Good News! After speaking with the HPC tech, i uninstalled LaserCut by removing every mention of it off the device along with drivers etc.
Thanks for all you guys help and have a good weekend. Extract the files from the zipped archive to a new directory. In a typical install all the required drivers will be set up as part of the Lasercut Installer, the additional drivers are only provided for completeness. Install Lasercut using the default settings. Like most older programs Lasercut prefers to run from the default paths. The program will install Lasercut, the drivers for the USB dongle and the drivers for the laser cutter.
Once complete navigate to the newly created folder to start the program. Connect both the Laser cutter and the USB dongle to the computer. If the drivers have installed correctly then they will appear in the device manager as shown above. To manually update the driver right click to item in device manager. Select Update driver and then manually select the folder downloaded in the first step. Windows will then determine which driver is best for your version of windows and update appropriately.
There are two versions of Lasercut located within the program path, a full version and a demonstration version. This version gives you complete control over the laser cutter. You can download jobs to the laser, adjust the cutting position and start a job all from within Lasercut.
This version of the software has limited capabilities; in particular it does not allow you to save your work and it does not connect to the laser cutter the program will crash if this is attempted. There are workarounds which allow you to prepare files while using the demonstration version. This file contains information about the size of the machine, the maximum speed of the axis and lots of other data.
The bat file then launches the Lasercut application. Each time Lasercut is run from this point onwards it will refer to the target machine. Most laser cutter software requires the user to prepare their files on the one computer that currently has the USB dongle.
